BREAKING: Emerson Student Disagrees With Golden Globe “Best Motion Picture: Drama” Choice

By: Charlie Greenwald and Malcolm Kelner

An Emerson student is unhappy with this year’s 2016 Best Motion Picture: Drama at the Golden Globes this year, which ended up being The Revenant.

“Spotlight was robbed,” said Cal Petroff, class of 2017. “That film was an breathless masterpiece about an important subject – The Revenant was so grim.”

Petroff, a junior with strong opinions, also said Mad Max: Fury Road was a better film than The Revenant.

“What a disgrace,” Petroff concluded. “Awards shows are pointless.”

At press time, Petroff was working on his short film, which he is hoping will win him his first EVVY.
