With a petition to lengthen the amount of time given to cross the street at the intersection if Boylston Street and Tremont Street, senior Jacob Walsh sees the next week as his last window of opportunity to get hit by a car in the ‘diagonal dash’ with the hopes of getting some kind of cash settlement from it.
The petition, accompanied by a video, has collected over 200 signatures as of Wednesday morning with the hopes of “reducing chaos” and providing a “better experience for all” in the 15-minute intervals between Emerson classes.
“Listen- I’m about $150,000 in the hole. Plain and simple, I need cash. Fast.” Said Walsh ’17 as he made a quick trot from Dunkin Donuts to the Grand Lodge of Masons. “If this is going to happen, it’s going to happen now.”
At press time, the 22-year old closed his eyes, took a deep breath, and said “Okay. Here it goes.”
